Lagos CP warns NURTW members, others against unrest
Commissioner of Police Lagos State, Abiodun Alabi, on Monday, reads out a riot act to members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), informing them to discard violence and welcome peace.
This was as a result of the troubles instigated by the fractional members of the union and tricycle operators in the state.
The unrest reached an unbearable crescendo when some members who were loyal to Musiliu Akinsanya alias MC Olu Omo and those who were loyal to Azeez Abiola aka Istijaba clashed in Lagos.
It was gathered that many properties worth millions and unknown number of lives have been lost to the repeated attacks.
The spokesperson of the state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, via a statement said the commissioner of police in the state, during the meeting, sounded warning that anyone caught fomenting crisis anywhere within the state would be arrested and brought to book.
