KWSG unveils 2024/2025 school calendar, sets strict compliance measures

The Kwara State Government has approved the academic calendar for the 2024/2025 school session for all primary and secondary schools, both public and private, across the state.

In a statement issued by the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Peter Amogbonjaye on Thursday in Ilorin. The calendar outlines key dates including term resumption, midterm breaks, and school closing dates to ensure a uniform academic structure throughout the state.

With the approved schedule, the 2024/2025 academic session will begin on September 17, 2024, for the first term, with the midterm break scheduled for October 31 to November 1, 2024. The term will end on December 13, 2024, after 13 weeks of classes.

The second and third terms will follow similar structures, with their respective dates outlined in the calendar.

The Statement further said that all schools in Kwara, both public and private, must strictly adhere to the approved academic calendar, warning that any institution found in violation will face appropriate sanctions.

Additionally, boarding students are expected to return the Sunday before each term’s resumption, and all national and public holidays will be observed accordingly.

The government aims to maintain a consistent and organized academic year, ensuring that schools operate within the outlined framework for the benefit of students, teachers, and parents.
