KWSG reaffirms Kwara’s commitment to empowering local communities

The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment to empowering local communities as a key part of its strategy for economic growth.

In a Statement Signed by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology, Taibat Baba Adams stated that the commitment was highlighted by the Commissioner for Business, Innovation, and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, during a recent courtesy visit from the Kwara State Artisans Congress.

Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Adelodun praised the artisans for their contributions to the state’s economy and cultural heritage, reaffirming the Ministry’s dedication to supporting their work.

“We are fully committed to empowering our artisans, as they play a vital role in promoting economic development and preserving our cultural heritage,” she said. She emphasized that “entrepreneurship and innovation are central to economic growth in Kwara State,” and invited the Congress to participate in the upcoming Kwara Trade Fair in December 2024.

The artisans, represented by the President of the Kwara State Artisans Congress, Alhaji Jimoh Ayinla Adeshina, expressed gratitude for the government’s ongoing support. Which have enabled members to benefit from various empowerment programmes provided by the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration as well as making available job opportunities for members in the ongoing projects in the state

He also appreciated the Commissioner’s attendance at the Congress’s recent Beauty and Cosmetology Annual Programme, stating, “Your presence underscores the government’s genuine interest in our growth and success.”

Alhaji Adeshina further expressed a desire for continued collaboration, noting that working closely with the state government will further promote entrepreneurship and innovation in Kwara State.

The visit also included key figures from the Ministry, including Director of Commerce Mr. Taiwo Adebisi, Deputy Director Alhaji Sani Ibrahim, and others, as well as Congress Vice President Alhaji Ayo Sekoni and Treasurer Alhaji Issa Opeyemi. Both parties emphasized the potential of their partnership to foster growth and create more opportunities for local artisans.
