KWSG begins reconstruction of Gada-Woro water facility, expands reticulation projects

The Kwara State Government has commenced the reconstruction of the Gada-Woro bi-water facility in Patigi Local Government Area as part of efforts to improve access to potable water across the state.

The Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Usman Yunusa Lade, disclosed this during an inspection of the ongoing reconstruction of the dilapidated facility and water reticulation projects in Gada-Woro over the weekend.

Represented by the Acting Director of Water Engineering Services, Engr. Hajara Aremu, the commissioner said the government is also carrying out extensive water reticulation projects in Wara, Egbejila, and Mogaji-Ogo communities within the Ilorin metropolis.

According to him, the Gada-Woro facility is being transformed into an integrated water supply system with expanded pipeline reticulation and additional water fetching points to ensure wider access to safe drinking water for residents.

Lade added that similar water pipeline construction, extension, and expansion projects are ongoing in Jebba community and have reached an advanced stage.

He expressed optimism that the projects would be completed within a short period, enabling more residents to benefit from improved access to potable water.

Speaking on behalf of the Gada-Woro community, Alhaji Abubakar Baiwa commended the state government for the intervention, describing the project as a welcome development.

He said the facility, when completed, would significantly ease the challenges faced by residents in accessing clean water.

Baiwa also pledged the community’s commitment to protecting the project and ensuring its sustainability for the benefit of all residents.

The reconstruction and reticulation projects form part of the state government’s efforts to provide essential amenities and improve the living conditions of communities across Kwara State.
