KWASAA ensures equal opportunity for campaign posters in upcoming local government elections
The Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA) has committed to providing equal opportunities for all political parties and politicians to display their campaign posters ahead of the forthcoming Local Government elections in the state.
The General Manager of KWASAA, Alhaji Al Imam Ismail Asukuti, while speaking during a press briefing assured journalists that the agency will ensure a level playing field for all politicians, irrespective of their political affiliations.
Asukuti emphasized the importance of adhering to regulations and urged politicians to contact the agency for guidance on the proper procedures for posting or erecting campaign posters and billboards to avoid any legal infractions.
“We are dedicated to maintaining fairness and equity in the use of signage and advertisement spaces during the election period. All political parties and candidates will be given equal opportunity to promote their campaigns,” Asukuti stated.
He also appealed to the public to cooperate with KWASAA to maintain a clean and tidy environment before, during, and after the elections. The agency, he noted, will be diligent in its duties of regulating, controlling, and enforcing the appropriate use of campaign materials.
Asukuti further expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for granting the agency the autonomy to effectively regulate and oversee the signage and outdoor advertising sector in Kwara State.
