Kwara’s first female Commissioner of Police assumes duty

Ebunoluwarotimi Adelesi, the first female Commissioner of Police, in Kwara State, on Wednesday assumed duty in the state.

Adelesi took over from Paul Odama, the outgoing Commissioner of Police, who was promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG.

According to a statement by the spokesperson pf the command, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, the new CP who hails from Sagamu, in the Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State, was appointed to the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.

The new police boss was described as a no-nonsense police officer, having worked in several police commands and formations within and outside the country and held several command positions at various times.
