Kwara welcomes NEC delegates for developmental project evaluation
The Kwara State Government received delegates from the National Economic Council (NEC) this week to assess various developmental projects implemented within the state.
During their visit, the Commissioner for Planning and Economic Development, Dr. (Mrs) Mary Arinde, expressed the state government’s commitment to positively transforming the development narrative of Kwara, often referred to as the “State of Harmony.” She stated, “We are dedicated to rewriting the development story of our state and showcasing the significant projects we have undertaken.”
Dr. Arinde urged the delegates to tour key projects such as the Garment Factory, agriculture programs, and various initiatives in the education sector. She highlighted how these initiatives have drawn the attention of potential investors to Kwara, emphasizing, “These impactful projects have encouraged more investors to consider Kwara State for better opportunities.”
Assuring the delegates of their security and a supportive environment during their visit, she said, “You can rest assured of your safety and a conducive atmosphere for your evaluations.”
Alhaji Kayode Alimi, the State Director of the Planning Department, thanked Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for spearheading transformative projects that have significantly uplifted the state’s economic status. He assured the delegates of full cooperation from the Ministry to achieve a successful evaluation process.
In his remarks, Professor Andohol Jerome, the head of the NEC delegation and Director General of the Benue State Budget Planning Commission, appreciated the warm reception and underscored the importance of their assignment. “This team is focused on the North Central Zone, and our goal is to evaluate developmental activities, analyze data, and provide models that other states can emulate to foster economic growth,” he stated.
He further added, “The essence of this assignment is to ensure that developmental projects are accessible to all individuals and to gather feedback from the community.”
