Kwara United unveils new Coach,storms Ikenne for Pre-season tournament
Kwara United Football Club on Wednesday unveiled Coach Azeez Audu Mohammed as the new Technical Adviser of the club.
Muhammad who was unveiled at the club secretariat joined the club on a year deal.
Coach Abdullahi Biffo was the last Technical Adviser of the team who worked for three season before his departure towards the tail end of the last NPFL season.
“The Board of the club decided to engage Coach Azeez because of what we have seen him do, and what he is capable of doing, especially in line with the philosophy of the club”, said Kwara United Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye in a club statement.
Titiloye commended the state Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Kwara State Sports Commission, the Supporters, the Fans and other stakeholders for their support to the club, even as he appealed for more to keep the team afloat.
Meanwhile, Kwara United ok Wednesday also left for Ilorin to participate at the ValueJet Pre-season tournament in Ikenne.
The tournament which will see the Harmony boys facing the likes of Rivers United, Gateway United, Smart City FC and Ottasolo FC is expected to serve as a tune-up for the team as they prepare for their Confederation Cup engagements.
Kwara United will face AS Douanes of Niger Republic in the first preliminary game of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The new gaffer, who last worked for Katsina United has also managed clubs like Shabab Nasir, Almaurad, Alamir Bahrawi, Hayyal Wadi Nyala, Alamal Athbara and Wad Hashim Sinnar.
ValueJet Pre-season tourney will kick off Thursday, August 25 at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne,Ogun State.
