Kwara United abandons U19 team ahead of N-Youth League opening match in Yobe
Kwara United has failed to mobilise their U-19 team ahead of their N-Youth League Cup opening match against the Yobe Desert Stars U19 team.
The Informant247 gathered that the U19 team was reportedly scheduled to travel to Yobe State on Monday morning for the Week One game, set to take place on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
However, the team’s management did not make the necessary arrangements for the players to embark on the journey.
A source, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed concern about the team’s ability to honour the away match.
“There is no arrangement for when the team will travel. We were told on Sunday that a 13-man list would be called for the journey, but we haven’t heard anything since then,” he said.
The Informant247 understands that the U19 team had an intensive training and played several friendly matches in preparation for the league.
The Informant247 also learned that other Kwara teams, including Kwara Football Academy and ABS Ilorin FC U19, left Ilorin early on Monday for their away games in Kebbi State and Abuja, respectively.

The N-Youth League, a data-driven league, is recognised as a valuable platform for exposing and marketing young players to top European football scouts. It utilises Wyscout, the world-leading scouting platform, which will stream all the games and provide players with the opportunity to be seen and monitored.
When contacted to confirm the status of the U19 team, Kwara United’s media officer, Ayodeji Ismail, promised to provide the management’s position as soon as it is confirmed.
