Kwara to focus on STEM, skills development in upcoming education conference
Kwara State is set to hold its first-ever Education Conference, with a focus on promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and skills development for young people.
Dr. Adetola Ariyike Salau, the Special Adviser on Education, Policy Formulation, and Human Capital Development to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, made this announcement.
The conference, themed “Future-Ready Education: Advancing STEM & Skills Development for Nigerian Youth,” will take place on November 14, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at the Banquet Hall in Ilorin, the state capital.
The event will bring together leaders in education, policy, and industry to discuss strategies for advancing STEM education and skills training for the youth in Kwara State and beyond.
Attendees can look forward to keynote speeches, workshops, panel discussions, paper presentations, and roundtable sessions aimed at encouraging knowledge-sharing and innovative thinking.
Speaking on Tuesday, November 5, Dr. Salau emphasised that the conference will provide a platform for educators, administrators, and policy experts to exchange ideas and share best practices.
The event is being organised in partnership with IHS Towers, with the Kwara State Commissioner for Education, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, acting as the Chief Host.
With contributions from leaders in both the education and technology sectors, the conference is expected to be a key step towards building a skilled, future-ready workforce in Nigeria.
