In a bid to motivate people to participate actively in politics, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, the Kwara Central Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 has purchased three thousand tickets for football lovers ahead of Sunday’s match.

The match would be the last home game of Kwara United FC in the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), as it is against MFM FC.

Mustapha has promised to compensate the Kwara United players with bonus should they win the match.

The information was revealed via a notification letter forwarded to the Executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission from the club’s secretary, Olowo Hamidu.

“The Management Board of Kwara United Football Club wishes to inform you that Mall. Saliu Mustapha; had agreed to purchase Match Day Tickets for Three Thousand (3,000) Club Supporters and also payment of Winning Bonuses to our players for Kwara United FC last Home Match against MFM FC on Sunday 10 July, 2022 at the Main Bowl of Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin in our Quest to Qualify for ‘CAF Continental Ticket,” he wrote.

The Informant247 observes that Kwara United FC would be playing against the already relegated Lagos-based football club in the Match Day 37 of the NPFL, to be held at the Main-Bowl of the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin on the second day of Ileya.

The football club is maintaining the fourth position on the league’s table with 55 points from 36 matches.

It also stands the chance of getting one of the continental slots at the end of the last match against Heartland FC in Owerri next weekend.

Mallam Mustapha is of the opinion that filling the stadium with fans would be a great advantage to our assets (players) and he considers it an avenue to ginger them to victory.

He is of the belief that this golden opportunity will motivate more youths to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) and actively participate in the 2023 general election.

The Club Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, commended Mallam Mustapha for supporting and solidarizing with the club, and also assisting the efforts of the state government on the team.

Titiloye also used the avenue to thank Mallam Bola Mogaji, the Executive Chairman of the State Sports Commission, his Board members and other stakeholders for the solidarity extended to the team.
