Kwara Sports Commission dissolves all sports associations

The Kwara State Sports Commission has announced the dissolution of all sports associations in the state with immediate effect.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Commission’s Press Secretary, Saheed Abdullahi, in Ilorin on Friday.

According to the statement, the decision was reached during the Commission’s sitting held on 12th September, 2025, where members deliberated extensively on the structure and performance of the associations.

“The dissolution became necessary in order to inject new, committed, and passionate individuals into the associations, as well as retain former active members for more effective and efficient service delivery,” the statement read.

The Commission directed all affected members to immediately hand over all documents, records, and materialsbelonging to their respective associations to the secretaries as part of the dissolution process.

While appreciating the outgoing members for their “unwavering support and contributions,” the Commission urged them to remain available and responsive to future calls to serve.
