The Commissioner for Planning and Economic Development, Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Ronke Arinde made this known on Tuesday when meeting with the State Committee on Food and Nutrition (SCFN).

Arinde highlighted the critical role that proper nutrition plays in the health and wellbeing of children, noting that improved nutrition can significantly lower the likelihood of infections and diseases.

The Commissioner also emphasized the commitment of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to ensure that quality nutrition is made available to the state’s children through various initiatives, while urging parents and caregivers to adhere to the guidelines set forth by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to ensure safe food intake for malnourished children.

In his remarks, Dr. Oluwagbenga Bankole, Secretary of the SCFN, commended the Commissioner for her outstanding efforts. He elaborated on the SCFN’s mission, which is to coordinate state activities focused on nutrition, ensuring effective collaboration across the state.
