Kwara reiterates commitment to quality education as CAILS holds 2025 Ramadan lecture

The Kwara State  Government has reiterated its commitment to quality education as a tool of progress for promoting education in line with Islamic values.

The state Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr.( Mrs) Mary Arinde, stated this during the week at the 2025 Annual Ramadan Lecture held at Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), Ilorin.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Barrister Sabitiyu Grillo, the commissioner affirmed that the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq recognises CAILS as one of the vital institutions for training and manpower development.

Dr Arinde also reiterated that some of the projects embarked upon by the present administration for the smooth running of this institution include the provision of a new transformer, renovation of lecture rooms, improvement of staff welfare, increase in subvention and support for accreditations of more academic programmes amongst others.

In his contributions, the Provost CAILS, Dr Saad Aadi, appreciated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his unwavering commitment to educational growth and development in the state, saying the school had successfully secured the approval and accreditation of some Programmes like Islamic/common Law, Mass Communication, Accounting, Computer as well as Library  Science, to ensure standardisation in line with the national educational Framework.

He said, “I, therefore, appeal to critical stakeholders such as the alumni, religious leaders, as well as philanthropists, to please contribute towards further development of the institution, through the provisions of infrastructure, granting scholarships and research fundings.”
