Kwara pledges support for smooth operation of NIS
Kwara State Geographic Information Service (KWGIS) has pledged its support to the State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
KWGIS Chairman, ESV. Abdulkareem Babatunde Sulyman gave the assurance while receiving the State Comptroller of the Immigration Service, Mrs Abolupe Bewaji, and her entourage, who paid him a courtesy call.
Sulyman, while appreciating the mutual working relationship between the State Government and the Command in securing the borders, assured that the agency would not renege in its support by looking into the requests made by the Command to enhance efficient service delivery.
In her remarks, the State Comptroller of the NIS appealed to the State Government to consider their request to acquire the land directly behind the Command for further expansion of the Command. This is to accommodate the office needs of their officers adequately.
Bewaji decried the overpopulation of staff in the present location owing to the restricted land allocation, posing welfare challenges to staff.
She commended the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on his transformation agenda and support to the State Command in the past.
