Kwara PDP Deputy Guber Candidate bags Chieftaincy tittle

The Kwara People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate, Hon.Gbenga Makanjuola, has been named the Atunluse of Obbo-Aiyegunle in Ekiti Local Government of Kwara State.

The installation by the Owa L’ Obbo of Obbo- Aiyegunle, on Saturday, was in commemoration of the 4th Obbo-Aiyegunle Day.

Hon. Makanjuola was honoured based on his good work and impactful contributions to human capital and infrastructural development of the community, according to the monarch.

Present at the occasions was the PDP Gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi; Kwara South Senatorial Candidate, Senator Rafiu Ibrahim; Kwara North Senatorial Candidate; Hon. Issa Adamu Bawa; party stalwarts; dignitaries from all works of life and well-wishers.

Abdullahi Yaman while giving his congratulatory speech said the chieftaincy title awarded to his running mate was a great honour for him and the party. He further urged Kwarans to refrain from politics of thuggery, bitterness and violence. While he advised citizens to think out of the box to ensure the actualization of a prosperous Kwara.

Kwara South Senatorial Candidate, Sen. Rafiu Ibrahim, for his part, said the chieftaincy title awarded to the former lawmaker was occasioned by his sterling qualities and past achievements recorded in Obbo-Aiyegunle kingdom.

“We are proud to associate with him, we know the title given to him is as a result of his work and what he has done for the community. We, the PDP family are happy to celebrate with him,” he said.

“We are now imploring Kwara South electorates to know that their choice must be based on competence, character and capacity which one of us has demonstrated to the Obbo-Aiyegunle community that PDP is a party of performers,” he added.
