Kwara, Oyo, FCT, others to experience heat stress, says NiMET
On Tuesday, the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMET) disclosed that there will be rising temperatures and high humidity levels, which may lead to thermal (heat) discomfort in various states.
According to a statement issued by the agency, the most affected areas include the North-Central and other states, which are; Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, Oyo, Kogi, Nasarawa, Benue, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Cross River, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Other vulnerable regions include the Southwest and coastal areas, along with Taraba, Adamawa, Plateau, Kaduna, Zamfara, and Sokoto.
As a precaution, Nigerians are advised to stay cool, wear lightweight and breathable clothing, and remain hydrated.
