Kwara NSCDC creates 18 new Area Commands, Division to strengthen security

In a bid to strengthen security, the Kwara state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has created seven new Area Commands and 11 Divisions across the 16 local government areas of the state.

The newly created Area Commands are Area I (Lafiagi), Area J (Oke- Oyi), Area K (Agbabiaka), Area L (Patigi ), Area M (Kaoama), Aea N (Share ), and Area O (Ilemona), while the newly established Divisions are located in Alagbado, Jebba, Kpada, Ilupeju, Shonga, Tsaragi, Oro, Bacita, Lade, Agbabiaka and Amayo.

According to a statement by Dr Umar Muhammed, the state commandant of NSCDC, Dr Umar, and signed by the Corps public relations officer, Ayoola Michael, the creation of the new Area Commands and Divisions, was with the approval of the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Audi.

The statement also stated that the development was part of the NSCDC’s ongoing efforts to fulfil its core mandates and statutory responsibilities to enhance operational effectiveness and service delivery across the state.

Muhammed noted that “this development complements the existing Area Commands and Divisions, reinforcing the Corps’ commitment to strengthening its presence within communities and fostering collaboration in the fight against criminality in all its forms.”

He added: “The new Area Commands and Divisions have commenced operations. I encourage the public to cooperate with the personnel in these offices as we work to eliminate criminal elements from our communities.”
