Kwara NNPP laments infrastructural deficit in Baruten LG, urges people to vote wisely in 2023

The Kwara State chapter of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has lamented the infrastructural deficit in Baruten local government area of the State.

Speaking separately at the flag off ceremony of the party at Okuta on Thursday, the party stakeholders urged the people of the state to make the right choices in the next general elections.

In his remarks, the State Chairman of the party, AbdulRahman AbdulSalam noted that the party decided to flag off its campaign programme at Baruten as a show of concern to their needs.

He said, “We have come to see their pains and identify with them. We have seen how their roads are grossly dilapidated and also its impacts -so that when we take over in 2023 we would be able to get back to them on what we have seen and do the needful.”

Stressing the need to explore the agricultural potentials of the local government, the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Professor Oba Abdulraheem assured the people that NNPP will deliver on ‘trust’ if given the mandate in 2023.

He said, “Through mechanized farming, we can get hectares of land cultivated and produce more cotton. We will also provide an opportunity for the farmers to have their cotton processed into cloth with the use of technology”

The party’s senatorial candidate for Kwara North, Dr. Kolo Baba Jiya noted that the flag off ceremony in Baruten local government signifies the love that the party has for people in the grassroots.

While expressing the need to close the infrastructural gap of the district, he disclosed that his red chamber ambition hinged on “bringing what belongs to kwara north back to them”.

The flag off ceremony also saw several candidates of the party for various elective positions receiving the flag of the party – a confirmation of their candidature for the upcoming general elections.
