In a bid to support young entrepreneurs and foster economic growth, the Kwara State Government has disclosed that it would partner with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to create opportunities for youths in the State, particularly in business registration, access to regulatory support, and capacity-building initiatives.

The Commissioner for Youth Development, Amb. Ndanusa Usman Shehu made this known while paying a courtesy visit to the office of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Ilorin, the state capital.

The Commissioner emphasised that the purpose of the visit was to focus on empowering young entrepreneurs by easing business registration, providing mentorship, and ensuring youths-led businesses comply with the required regulations and policies.

According to him, “We seek to partner with you to simplify the process of formalising youths-led businesses, providing mentorship, and encouraging compliance with business regulations to promote sustainable entrepreneurship. This engagement will reflect the government’s commitment to youth empowerment, job creation, and economic development.”

In his remarks, the Director of CAC, Mr Tunde Adeoti, noted that the commission has been moving around the State ministries, parastatals and agencies to connect with them on how to collaborate and educate the youths on business registrations.

He highlighted the importance of youth participation in the formal economy. He assured that the Commission would explore ways to provide technical support, awareness campaigns, and capacity-building programmes tailored towards young entrepreneurs.

Mr Adeoti emphasised that there were lots of benefits the people could get from the government when they registered their businesses with the Commission to become an entity, adding that the Federal government was interested in making informal businesses formal by helping them to grow and stabilise, which could attract foreign investors for partnerships.
