Kwara moves to enhance transport security through comprehensive data collation
In a bid to bolster security measures within the transport sector, the Kwara State Government has announced plans to compile comprehensive data on transport associations across the State.
This initiative aims to improve the planning and coordination of transportation activities, ultimately strengthening the security and safety of commuters.
During a recent address on Radio Kwara Midland FM’s interactive program “Yenkuyengooru,” the Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Lafia Aliyu Korasabi, discussed these developments with the people of Kwara while emphasizing that the establishment of the Ministry of Transportation by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is a strategic move to streamline planning and management across various transport sectors, including water, rail, and road.
Hon. Korasabi noted that this initiative aims to boost economic activities, enhance safety, and foster a conducive business environment that will create job opportunities throughout Kwara State.
In addressing traffic management, Lafia revealed that traffic officers from the Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) have been deployed to Okolowo Highway for effective order maintenance and to prevent potential accidents. He assured that similar deployments would extend to other areas in the State to promote comprehensive traffic management and ensure the safety of all citizens.
