Kwara LG election: Our primary election results were tampered with, APC chair raises alarm

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State has raised concerns over alleged tampering with primary election results, which he claims were altered without his knowledge or consent.

In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Appeal Panel, the Party Chairman detailed the irregularities, stating that “ward results were modified, with some councilors replaced without my awareness.”

He mentioned that in Igbana Ward 1 and 2, Ward 2 now has two councilors, leaving Ward 1 with none, a clear sign of manipulation.

Furthermore, the Chairman noted that the selected vice-chairperson is unknown to the party and has no affiliation with the local government.

He stated that Olusona Bunmi polled 2,814 votes to emerge as the winner ahead of Babatunde Taye and Fadipe James, who polled 2,319 votes and 932 votes respectively.

He furthered that, despite coming last, Fadipe James was declared the winner, a decision he described as “perplexing” and one that demands a convincing explanation to address the concerns of party loyalists.

He also requested the Appeal Panel’s assistance in clarifying the situation, attaching minutes from the elders’ resolutions regarding the councillorship primaries in the 10 wards as evidence
