Kwara launches Hotline to combat social vices, support vulnerable individuals

In a significant initiative aimed at safeguarding residents, the Kwara State Government has launched a hotline dedicated to addressing issues related to social vices, including child abuse, sexual abuse, harassment, and domestic violence.

The announcement was made by Hon. Mariam Nnafatima Imam, PhD, the Commissioner for Social Development, during the first quarter Inter-Ministerial Press Briefing held by the Ministry of Communications at the Ministry of Finance conference room in Ilorin.

Commissioner Imam highlighted the urgent need for immediate reporting of social vices and violations impacting women, children, and other vulnerable groups. Prompt reporting, she noted, is essential for allowing the Ministry to take swift action and provide necessary interventions.

She also reiterated the commitment of Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to creating an inclusive government where the rights of every individual are respected. Commissioner Imam urged the public to share the hotline widely, emphasizing the importance of collective action in giving voice to the voiceless and ensuring justice for those affected by social vices.

Residents can reach the hotline at 08144342786 and are encouraged to make use of this resource to foster a safer Kwara State for all.
