Kwara L-PRES hosts wives of council chairs, pledges improved collaboration

In a bid to improve livestock production, the Kwara State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) has hosted the wives of the Chairmen who were on a courtesy visit to the coordination office of L-PRES in Ilorin, the state capital.

Mr Olusoji Oyawoye, the State Project Coordinator of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), represented by the Project’s Gender-Based Violence Officer, Mrs Kuburat Omoniyi, while addressing the spouses of chairmen, highlighted some of the achievements of the project in improving the economic livelihood of the people through impactful infrastructural development, capacity building as well as empowering livestock farmers with the necessary inputs such as pelleting and crusher machines, distribution of livestock enzymes to farmers, among others.

He added that the project was to ensure gender inclusiveness in implementing its activities, in line with the World Bank guidelines.

Speaking on behalf of the team, Hajiya Ramat AbdulMalik said the association is collaborating with all government agencies to positively impact people’s lives, especially women at the grassroots.

She, however, appreciated the state government for bringing such an impactful project to the state and called for improved collaboration with the project office.
