Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has described Kwara as the safest state in the country, saying the peaceful atmosphere is hinged on the frantic efforts of security operatives.
“With various efforts and our collaborations with various stakeholders, I am hopeful that we will surmount our security challenges in the country. We must commend and continue to support the security agencies for their commitments and sacrifices. Thanks to these efforts, Kwara is arguably the safest state in Nigeria today because of the work they are doing. We want to keep it that way,” the governor said during the passing out ceremony of new Police constables.
AbdulRazaq, who urged residents of the state to support the newly recruited police special constabularies in order to strengthen intelligence gathering and security, advised the public to cultivate the habit of reporting suspicious movements.
He said, “For us, security begins with all of us in our homes and in our work places. We must all report suspicious movements. We must not just sit down and expect the police and other security agencies to perform magic. We must support them to perform their jobs with the right information. They are doing their best and we commend them for the work they are doing. As citizens, we must be active informants and offer useful information to security agencies.
