Kwara Govt wades in NULGE crisis, sets up Committee to resolve issues among members

The Kwara State Government has on Monday, 24th February setup a 12 man committee to resolve the tussle with the top echelons of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE) in the State of harmony.

In discharge of her mandate, the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hajia Aisha Ahman Pategi saw the necessity to set up the Committee in a bid to contain further escalation of the misunderstanding which if not well managed could degenerate to serious unrest.

The Honourable Commissioner extolled the two factions of the group for honouring her invitation and taking time to apprise her of both remote and immediate developments which occasioned the crisis.

The commissioner, however, stressed that the current administration of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazak had made workers epicenter of regime’s agenda, and it will do everything possible to encourage independence of Workers’ Unions in the State.

Hajia Aisha, thereby charged the two factions to embrace peace pending the outcome of the Committee findings.

The Members of the Committee as inaugurated are as follows:

1. The Permanent Secretary of Establishment and Training who also doubles as Permanent Secretary Local Government Service Commission as the Chairman.

2. The Directors Personal Management of Offa, Baruten, Ilorin South, Ifelodun, Ilorin West, Moro, Edu , Ekiti, Ilorin East Local Government Council as members.

3. Director from Local Government Service Commission.

4. Assistant Director, Local Government Affairs from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to serve as Secretary.
