Kwara govt tasks market leaders on hygiene
The Kwara State Ministry of Environment has asked market leaders in the state to ensure hygienic environment to prevent an outbreak of disease.
The Ministry urged traders to ensure cleanliness and prompt disposal of refuse within the markets.
Speaking at a meeting with executives of Kwara State Marketers Association, on Wedenesday, the state Commissioner for Environment, Mrs Funke Julianah Oyedun, disclosed that these were in line with the policy of the state government to promote good health.
According to her, indiscriminate waste disposal has become worrisome, directing ‘that traders in the markets should carry out environmental sanitations every Wednesdays between 7 and 9 O’clock in the morning”.
