Kwara govt orders traders, drivers to vacate roadside
The Kwara State government has ordered all street traders, squatters and commercial drivers to vacate the roadside of some designated places in Ilorin metropolis or get prosecuted.
The government listed the designated areas as Challenge, Ahmadu Bello Way, Post Office, Unity, Ọja Oba roundabout, Ile Film, Ipata, Offa Garrage, and Sango.
They further added that all traffic rules would be enforced in order to make the state safe and serene.
“The Kwara State Traffic Management Authority KWARTMA would erect signboard in designated areas to inform the people and would be onground to enforce rules and regulations.”
The state government consequently urged all commercial vehicle operators in the area to move to the designated legal parks.
THE INFORMANT247 correspondent who visited the designated areas today observed that traders and drivers fully abide by the new regulation.
