Kwara govt equips Afon General Hospital with modern facilities to boost healthcare service delivery
In a bid to improve health care delivery, the Kwara State Government has disclosed that it is currently installing equipment worth several millions of naira in the General Hospital in Afon, Asa Local Government Area of the State.
According to a statement by Saad Hamdalat Temitope, the Press Secretary
Ministry of Health, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Amina Ahmed El-Imam, who inspected the equipment in Afon today in the company of the Hospital Management Board, spoke of the government’s resolution to ensure state-owned hospitals had necessary equipment needed to deliver top-notch services to the people of Kwara State.
She further explained that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is committed to ensuring efficient service delivery in the health sector by providing state-of-the-art equipment.

The Commissioner, while reiterating the government’s commitment to the upliftment of the hospital, said the equipment was provided to improve the hospital’s capacity to deliver quality healthcare and aid in surgeries, patient care, overall hospital operations and enhancing the overall functionality of the hospitals.
Dr El-Imam advised health personnel to remain committed to their jobs and ensure proper equipment maintenance.
In his remarks, the Officer-in-Charge of the Hospital, Mr Jeremiah Idowu, thanked the government for the effort, saying the new equipment would go a long way in aiding their work.
The newly supplied equipment included essential items such as theatre equipment, machine trolleys, oxygen concentrators, hospital ward cabinets, digital water baths, autoclave sterilisers, and and inverters.
