Kwara govt concludes Youth Town hall meeting, empowers 20 Youth Entrepreneurs

The statewide youth town hall meeting powered by the Office of the Senior Special Assistant on Youth Engagement to Kwara State Governor was concluded yesterday in grand style.

In a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Youth Engagement to Kwara State Governor, Kaosarat Adeyi, it said the last leg, which took place at the State Banquet hall, was scheduled for Kwara Central Senatorial district in Ilorin.

According to the statement, the meeting kicked off with syndicate sessions and presentations by various youth organisations from the four Local Government areas of the state. Various submissions ranging from requests for more infrastructures to education, youth empowerment and inclusion amongst others were the burning issues.

In his speech, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq emphasized the power of youth in any societal development. He commended the effort of Kwara youth and pledged his continuous commitment to youth emancipation in the State.

Earlier, Honourable commissioners from Ministries of enterprise and innovation, education, works and Agriculture were on ground to shed lights on various achievements of their respective ministries.

The gathering climaxed with the presentation of various equipment to budding entrepreneurs in Kwara Central senatorial districts based on needs assessment of the beneficiaries.

The empowerment aspect, powered by ambassador Yahaya Seriki, was a part of the state government’s efforts to engage youths across social strata. 29 beneficiaries from the four Local Governments went home with sewing machines, cake-baking equipment, make-up kits and a host of others

The Office of the SSA youth will come up with reports from the statewide interface with the youths and forward same to the state government for further action.
