Kwara govt announces partial closure of flyover bridge for two days

The Kwara State Ministry of Works, on Thursday, announced a partial closure of the Post-Office flyover bridge in Ilorin for routine maintenance between Saturday, 28 and Sunday, 29 of August to repair damaged solar lights.

A statement by the Press Secretary to the Ministry of Works, Monsurat Amuda Kannike, quoted the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, TPL Oloruko-Oba Isiaq Yinka, to have appealed to road users to use alternative routes.

The statement reads in part, “TPL Yinka said that the State Government, in collaboration with the handlers of Light-Up Kwara Project, is embarking on rehabilitation between Saturday 29th and Sunday 30 of this month.

“He urged members of the public to cooperate with their workers during the 2-day period of installations.

“He explained that the partial closure on the flyover would start from 8am to 5pm each day, adding that alternative routes can be used by the motorists and other road users as the repair work lasts.

“He also assured that officers of the State Road Transport Maintenance Agency (KWARMA) would be on ground to guide vehicular movement with a view to averting traffic jams in the neighbourhood.”
