In a bid to end insecurity, the Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Tuesday, held a crucial meeting with first-class traditional rulers

It was gathered that the discussion emphasized the importance of socioeconomic development alongside the enhancement of security measures for the protection of lives and properties.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said the AbdulRazaq highlighted a multiagency approach being adopted by his government to foster development and strengthen security within the state, particularly in response to the threats posed by cross-border violent nonstate actors fleeing from the neighboring Kainji Park and ongoing military operations.

The Governor reiterated his government’s commitment to increasing local involvement in grassroots security efforts, while urging the traditional rulers to play a pivotal role in communicating with their communities about the collective responsibility to safeguard against infiltration.

He, however, called for enhanced local support for security agencies, including the provision of actionable intelligence to assist in maintaining peace and safety.

Vice Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Oba Etsu Patigi Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II, expressed appreciation for the Governor’s thorough briefing and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the administration in its ongoing efforts to improve the state’s security and development. “We will always support your administration as you are doing a good job,” he stated.
