Kwara gov dieects disbursement of medical residency training fund residents doctors

The Kwara State AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has directed the disbursement of 2025 Medical Residency Training Fund (MRTF) to 37 residents doctors in the state.

The governor, while reiterating his government’s commitment to healthcare development, disclosed that the timely intervention underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to support the training of future medical professionals.

According to State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, this marks the third consecutive year that the government has fulfilled its promise to provide financial assistance through the MRTF, which significantly alleviates the financial challenges faced by resident doctors in their rigorous training programs.

Dr. El-Imam thanked Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his steadfast support for the health sector, reasserting the administration’s dedication to enhancing human capital development within healthcare.

“This disbursement is intended to ensure that our young medical professionals can focus wholeheartedly on their clinical education and deliver quality healthcare services to the people of Kwara State,” the Commissioner stated.

Dr. El-Imam emphasized that the MRTF is not merely a financial aid but rather a demonstration of the administration’s priorities and values. “Our resident doctors are the future of our healthcare system, and this support helps ensure their journey to becoming specialists is not encumbered by financial constraints,” she added.

The Commissioner also reiterated that the State Government remains committed to fostering an enabling environment for healthcare professionals, guaranteeing quality, accessible, and sustainable health services across Kwara State.
