Kwara Gov. AbdulRazaq congratulates Tinubu over Supreme Court judgement

The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over hus victory at the Supreme Court.

The Informant247 reports that the Supreme Court on Thursday, dismissed the appeals of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, while affirming the election victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress as the winner of the February 25, 2023.

It was earlier reported that the Supreme Court through Dr Festus Akande, the Director of Information of the apex court on Wednesday, announced October 26 (Tomorrow) for judgment in the appeals by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidates of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP), challenging February 25 presidential election which produced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

It would be recalled that both PDP and LP had on Monday argued their cases before the apex court while the appeal of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and its presidential candidate, Chichi Ojei, was dismissed after they withdrew it.

The Presidential Election Petitions Court had on September 6 dismissed the petitions of both parties for lack of evidence, but Obi and Atiku filed appeals.

However, Governor AbdulRazaq, while felicitating President Tinubu, said that the apex court verdict is the testament to the fact that the February 25 presidential election represented the wishes of the largest majority of Nigerians who participated in the civic duty.

The governor said, “I send hearty congratulations to His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the reaffirmation of his electoral victory by the Supreme Court today. The judgement is yet another testament to the fact that the February 25 presidential election represented the wishes of the largest majority of Nigerians who participated in the civic duty.

“I also congratulate our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the victory which is a triumph of truth over fact-free claims.

“I commend the judiciary for the courage to stand with the constitution in the face of obvious provocation and intimidation. This judgement has elevated the cause of jurisprudence in our country.

“It is my belief that the verdict of the Supreme Court will further strengthen the will of the President to bring renewed hope to the good people of Nigeria. I urge everyone to support Mr. President in his efforts to build a prosperous country.
