Kwara Customs generates N1.696bn revenue in three months
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Kwara Command has generated revenue of N1.696 billion for the first quarter of 2020.
A document released by the office of the Kwara Public Relations Officer of the service, Chado Zakari, to the THE INFORMANT247 in Ilorin showed that the revenue was generated between January and March.
The custom had set a annual revenue target of N8.38 billion.
However, the Kwara Custom boss, Compt. Ahmed declared that seizures were successfully accomplished as a result of the renewed determination of the Comptroller-General of Customs Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (rtd) to rid the country of all forms of illegal importation.
He stated that there will be continues sensitization for stakeholders on the need to comply with extant laws governing Customs and Excise activities.
The document indicated that state command, despite the effect of the coronavirus pandemic, got revenue of about N1.006 billion in January, N332.2 million in February, and N356.8 million in March.
It showed that the total amount of revenue generated by the Command since its creation hits N4.1 billion.
Meanwhile, according to the report, the Command within the period recorded Fifty Four (54) seizures worth N282.1 million.
The Kwara Customs boss call for support from the public and avoid warns Nigerians to shun illegal economic activities.
He likewise advised officers of the command to shun bribery and corruption.
