Kwara committed to reorienting youths on cultural values: Commissioner

The newly appointed Commissioner for Youth Development in Kwara State, Mrs. Harriet Adenike Oshatimehin has stated the ministry under her watch will be committed to the task of reorienting the youth on the enviable traditions and cultural values of the state while making certain that no stones are left unturned in the process of rebuilding the youth.

Oshatimehin disclosed this during her maiden meeting with the Heads of Departments of the Ministry, stating that she is open to suggestions, questions, and complaints that would help in moving the Ministry forward.

The Commissioner, who resumed office on Tuesday 7th of September, 2021, urged the Heads of the different Departments to put on their thinking caps in order to fashion out innovative approaches and solutions to the issues facing youth development in the state.

She emphasized that the Ministry of Youth is a very strategic one, wholly responsible for youth and other allied matters, urging every member of staff to contribute their best in meeting the cabinet responsibilities of the Ministry.

She said, “Everyone in the Ministry needs to return his or her mindset for a total reengineering of the entire structure in line with the laudable ideas and concepts of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.”

She further thanked Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for giving her another opportunity to serve in the State Executive Council, adding that she will do everything humanly possible to deliver in all her responsibilities.
