Kwara cabinet, Speaker, Seriki, Oyabambi condole with Governor Abdulrahman over father’s death

All members of the Kwara State cabinet and other government functionaries, The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Salihu Danladi, APC chieftain in Kwara State, Amb. Yahaya Seriki have expressed heartfelt condolences to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq over the death of his father, Alh. Abdulganiyu Folorunsho Abdulrazaq SAN and Northern Nigeria’s first lawyer.

On behalf of Kwara State Cabinet, Commissioner for Communications, Mrs. Adenike Harriet Afolabi-Oshatimehin extended her condolences in a statement made available to newsmen in the state capital

It reads “The cabinet and all government functionaries commiserate with our Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the Abdulrazaq family, Ilorin emirate and indeed Kwara State as a whole.

In another statement, The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Danladi says the demise of the elder statesman not only a loss for Abdulrazaq’s family, but to the entirety of Kwarans and Nigerians at large, given his monumental sacrifices and commitment to the socioeconomic and political development of the State and country, in his personal, professional and political capacity.

It reads partly, “While we wished Alh. AGF Abdulrazaq stayed longer to continue guiding and inspiring us in our strides to realize a greater Kwara, which he spent productive parts of his life pursuing, we take solace in the fact that he lived and died a fulfilled man”, Danladi-Salihu added.

Also an APC chieftain, Yahaya Seriki said the renown of Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Folorunsho AbdulRazaq shows that today is not a day in which we mourn. It is a day we celebrate a life worth living and the peaceful passing of a legend.

He added, “as AGF passed, he left his name in the sand of time, he left us with a memory of a kind heart, a philanthropist, a leader and a giver who demonstrated in his life time the possibilities that are there if only we are bold enough to lift others.

“Rather than mourn, today we must say thank you to AGF for leading the way, for being a role model, and for showing us the good that exist on the other side of fear.

“Ilorin and the entire region has indeed incurred a great loss. I, hereby, send my heartfelt condolences, first of all, to the governor of Kwara state, AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq, to the entire family of AGF, to Ilorin people and to the entire northern region.

On the part of a UK based philanthropist and United Democratic Party’s Governorship candidate in the 2019 general elections, Otunba Adentunji Oyabambi he described the death of AGF Razaq as a rude shock and a colossal loss to the entire country.

In a statement personally signed and sent to the Informant247, he said, “I commiserate with the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, over the death of his father, the people of the state, and the entire nation over the colossal loss

He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Al Jannah Firdaus, whilst granting the family, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, Ilorin Emirate and the people of Kwara state the fortitude to bear the loss.
