Kwara Assembly passes N584.7bn 2025 budget appropriation

Kwara State House of Assembly on Thursday, passed N584.7billion 2025 budget appropriation.

The state assembly passed the bill during plenary at the Assembly Complex, Ilorin.

The Informant247 had on Friday, December 20, 2024 reported that the Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, while presenting the 2025 appropriation bill before the state House of Assembly, valued at N540, 368, 119, 765.00, capital expenditure guzzles 62.1% of the fiscal plan while recurrent gets 37.9%, disclosed major infrastructural projects across the state.

The governor, who had initially announced that it would on Thursday, December 19, present the 2025 budget to the Kwara State House of Assembly, according to the letter read on the floor of the house during Tuesday’s plenary by the Speaker, Right Honourable Yakubu Danladi Salihu, could not present it until Friday.

According to a statement by Rafiu Ajakaye, the governor’s spokesperson, the governor said new roads are to be constructed in Kwara South, North, and Central to ease the movement of goods and services within the state, adding that construction work will begin on a multi-story CourtHouse and that the Metropolitan Square will be upgraded as the Ministry of Works and Transport gets 17.51% to carry on its massive road construction and maintenance mandate.
