Kwara Assembly confirms Olohungbebe, Nnafatima’s nomination as commissioners

The Kwara State House of Assembly on Wednesday confirmed the nominations of Dr Lawal Olalekan Olorungbebe (Ilorin West) and Mariam Nna Fatimah Imam (Edu) as the Commissioner-designates to be added to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s cabinet.

It was gathered that the confirmation was done at Wednesday’s plenary presided over by Speaker of the House, Right. Honourable.  Yakubu Danladi Salihu, who recalled the message from Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, requested the screening and confirmation of the nominees.

During the plenary, both nominees appeared before the House and were screened accordingly before being confirmed after deliberations at the Committee of the Whole.

Following their confirmation, the speaker directed the clerk of the House to communicate the decision to the Governor formally.

The Informant247 reports that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on Wednesday, 22nd February 2025, forwarded the names of Olohungbebe and Nnafatima to the State House of Assembly for approval as the new commissioner-designates.

Prior to their nominations, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe was the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Development, while Mariam Nnafatima Imam was the Senior Special Assistant on sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
