Kwara Assembly calls for review of ‘Operation Harmony’

In order to reposition the operations of the State Security outfits, Kwara State House of Assembly has urged Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazak to review the activities of ‘Operation Harmony’.

The call was contained in the resolution of the Assembly on a motion – need to build a formidable security architecture for the state – moved by Hon Babatunde AzdulKareem Paku of Malete/Ipaye/Oloru constituency.

The Speaker, Salihu Danladi – on the note – urged the Governor to ensure the collaboration of the Secretary to the State Government and the state Commissioner of Police to ascertain the status of Ilorin Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) center for repositioning for optimum performance.

The Speaker further called on the state Governor to direct relevant agency to carry out a proper census of security outfits in the state to guard against security breach.

Kwara Assembly also urged the government to liaise with the Nigeria Police to intensify community policing to involve more stakeholders in other to broaden the scope of participation and intelligence gathering.

On the last note, the house urged the state government to subscribe to consistent enlightenment if the citizenry on radio on security tips and reporting suspicious individuals and activities to the appropriate quarters.
