KWASU alumni roll out palliatives, scholarships to less privileged in Malete
The alumni of Kwara State University, Molete, on Friday, rolled out palliatives to the less privileged in Malete Community and awarded scholarships to five indigent children.
The palliatives were shared during a homecoming event organized by the Kwara State University Alumni Association.
The delegation led by the National President of the Association, Com. Uthman Aliyu Abdulkadir, members of the National Executive Council (NEC), and members of the association visited the host community of the University.
Abdulkadri, who spoke to The Informant247, said the motive of the event was to reach out to the host community, adding that Kwasu is known as one of the best in terms of entrepreneurship programs and outreach to rural communities in West Africa.
He said, “I am so happy that we the KWASU Alumni can come back to the communities where we have lived while learning to show the token of our gratitude towards them, this made us share some palliatives with them and also give scholarships to five children who are less privilege up to the secondary level in order to make them useful to the society in the future.”
The President appreciated the community for ensuring peaceful coexistence with KWASU students and also implored them to continue in this path of peace and friendliness.
Malete Community President, Mr. Abdulsalam AbdulQuadri Sanni, led the team to the elders’ house around the neighboring communities. Some of the communities visited include Molete, Kobayashi, Ojoare, Safari, Tegbesuna, and others.
Sanni reaffirmed that four pupils from primary and one from secondary level, saying that there are others who benefitted from the distribution of school materials like bags, exercise books, uniforms, and so on.
He expressed his profound gratitude to the KWASU alumni association for giving back to the host community and prayed that may God bless them more.
