Kwara 2023: Youths in Asa LG dump YPP, join APC
Throngs of political youth in Asa local government of Kwara State, have announced their intention to defect from the Young Progressive Party, YPP to the All Progressive Congress, APC in the State.
The decampees across 12 wards in Asa LG, met with Mallam Saliu Mustapha’s entourage led by Alh Ambali, the APC Kwara Central Senatorial Chairman, Alh Turawa Mahmud, the Asa local government APC chairman, Alhaji Sheu Yahaya, Kwara House of Assembly candidate Rukayat Shittu and other Asa local government chieftains.
During the meeting, they declared their massive support for Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Kwara Central Senatorial Candidate, Mallam Saliu Mustapha.
The decampees further attested to be loyal members of the party, praying that their union with APC will bring more greatness to the party.
They disclosed that Mallam Saliu Mustapha’s kind gestures and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq exemplary leadership style are the major reasons for their defection to the ruling APC.
Alhaji Sheu Yahaya, while receiving the decampees urged them to be relevant by canvassing for the Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq re-election bid as well as other party candidates.
“We do not want you to be part of APC, for your benefit, let us see your impact in the party. We want you to canvass for the Governor, so that it will be of advantage to us all,” he said.
Meanwhile, residents of Isale Oja area of Ilorin have declared their unflinching support for the Kwara Central Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mallam Saliu Mustapha.
Saliu Mustapha’s entourage while visiting the area on Saturday were warmly welcomed by massive crowd.
The residents claimed that Mustapha has been dignified with his benevolence and concern of the masses.
They pledged their total support for him in the forthcoming 2023 general elections as they unveil Saliu Mustapha’s billboard at Isale oja roundabout.
