Kwara: 18 dead in Okolowo express road accident
No fewer than 18 persons lost their lives on Wednesday following a fatal accident that occurred along Okolowo en route to Eiyenkorin, Ilorin, the state capital.
Officer Aduagba of the Kwara State Road Maintenance Agency (KWARTMA), who was at the scene of the ugly incident, told The Informant247 that two trailers were involved in the accident. The passengers of the mini trailer numbering 18 died while the passengers of the other trailer, whose number cannot be ascertained, survived.
It was further learnt that the trailer driver, where its passengers survived, has reported himself to G Divisional Police at Oloje, Ilorin.
However, the officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) cleared the scene and subsequently took the corpses away.
