According to a statement by Kingsley Fanwo, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo Wednesday in Lokoja, the suspects were captured during a series of raids jointly conducted by the Hybrid Force from the Office of the National Security Adviser and the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Egbe. The operations targeted Isanlu-Esa and Okoloke in Kogi State, as well as Patigi, Lafiagi, and Gbugbu in Kwara State.

The arrested suspects include Mainasara Abubakar, Sadik Abubakar, Jude Sani, and several others, with Rabiu Makeri identified as an informant for the gang.

“The security forces engaged the suspects in a fierce gun battle, during which some of the kidnappers fled, abandoning their motorcycles and their victims,” Fanwo said, highlighting the successful rescue of several kidnapped women during the confrontation.

He expressed appreciation for the security personnel involved, stating, “We want to thank the gallant officers from the Office of the National Security Adviser and our men at the FOB, Egbe, for their courage and professionalism.”
