Kano’s CPC Boss, Gen. Dambazau ‘Escapes’ From Custody
The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has announced that General Idris Bello Dambazau (Rtd), the Managing Director of the state’s Consumer Protection Council, escaped from its custody.
The acting Chairman of the agency, Barrister Màhmoud Balarabe while addressing journalists on Wednesday said that Dambazau was under intense interrogation at the commission’s headquarters on Tuesday when he (Dambazau) tendered the excuse that he needed to go home and take his medication.
The acting chairman said officials of the agency were ordered to accompany the retired army general to his house, but in the cause, he (Dambazau) fled their custody.
He said the army general was only able to turn up for interrogation on Tuesday, after being threatened with arrest for declining many invitations sent to him by the agency.
The acting chairman said the general has been invited to give answers to several petitions of corruption leveled against him.
