Kano govt dismisses 4 civil servants for allegedly selling public properties
The Kano State Government has dismissed four staff members of the Bureau for Land Management for allegedly selling public landed properties.
This is contained in a statement signed by the state Commissioner for information, Mr Muhammad Garba, and made available to newsmen in Kano on Tuesday.
The statement further alleged that the four persons forged documents, issuing false cadastral information and falsification of official records.
According to Garba, the dismissed officers included Senior Survey Assistant on Salary GL 06, Abdulmuminu Usman-Magami, and Senior Land Officer on Salary GL 10, Abdullahi Idris.
Others were Press Attendant on Salary GL 05, Mr Audu Aliyu, and Assistant Chief Land Officer on Salary GL 13, Baba Audu.
The commissioner explained that the officials were dismissed based on the recommendations of an Investigative Committee set up by the government, following the complaints levelled against them.
He stated that their dismissal was in line with the Civil Service Rule No.04406, adding that the measure was to serve as deterrent to others.
The statement further warned that the state government would not condone any official misconduct from any civil servant.
“All government employees are expected to carry out their responsibilities honestly, diligently, effectively and in accordance with the civil service rules and regulations,” it added. (NAN)
