Kaduna Gov El-Rufai removes 12-hour curfew
The Kaduna State government has lifted the 12-hour curfew earlier imposed on Sabon Garin Nasarawa-Tirkaniya in Chikun local government area, effective Saturday April 8, 2023.
This was confirmed by the Commissioner for the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan.
Following the lift of curfew, police and military will be carrying out patrols in the locations.
The residents may resume their lawful activities and businesses.
The Kaduna state government also sent message of advice to the people of the state to stay away from trouble.
He assured citizens of the state that criminals would be dealt with according to the law.
The Informant247 earlier reported that the state government placed a 24-hour curfew on residents of Sabon Garin Nassarawa-Tirkaniya in Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
The state government revealed that this decision was taken as a result of the violence which ensued in the area, leading to the killing of two persons.
In a statement released by the state Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan on Monday April 3, 2023, the state government has ordered security agencies to enforce the curfew in the affected area.
He added that investigation into the matter has begun, in order to restore peace and normalcy in the concerned area.
He implored residents to comply with the order of the state government which takes effect immediately in the affected area.
He said further development would be revealed to the residents accordingly.
