Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru has been appointed as the new Deputy Leader of the Nigerian Senate
This was disclosed by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during the plenary session on Wednesday, October 18.
Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, a second timer at the Red chamber is a member of the APC representing Kwara South senatorial district.
He previously served as Deputy Chief Whip before his promotion to the role of Deputy Senate Leader.
This change comes as a result of Senator Dave Umahi’s appointment as the Minister of Works by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Meanwhile, the Senate also announced Nwebonyi Peter Onyeka as the new Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate.
