Just In: INEC announces APC’s Uzodinma as winner Imo governorship poll

Hope Uzodinma, the Imo State Governor and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday declared winner of the Saturday governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Informant247 gathered Uzodinma polled 540,308 votes to defeat his closest rivals, Sam Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 71,503 to come second and Athan Achonu of the Labour Party (LP) who scored 64,081 votes to come third.

Professor Abayomi Fashina, the Returning Officer for the Imo State Governorship Election and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, while announcing the result, said Uzodinma scored the highest number of valid votes cast and was returned elected for a second term in office.

Uzodimma won in all the 27 local government areas of the state where the November 11, 2023 governorship poll.
