Just In: Court fines senator Natasha ₦5m for contempt over satirical apology

The Federal High Court in Abuja has imposed a ₦5 million fine on Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for contempt of court.

Justice Binta Nyako delivered the ruling on Friday, stating that the suspended lawmaker violated the court’s order by posting a satirical apology directed at Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

In her ruling, Justice Nyako mandated Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan to issue a sincere apology in two national dailies and on her Facebook page within a span of seven days.
